Mainstays of Middle School Ministries the past several years, Laila & Lauren are young women of Wesley Freedom who are sneaky-extraordinary friends! Neither seek accolades, neither the 'squeaky wheel,' their intelligence and empathy make them two of the most worthwhile people to talk to at our church. They are both involved on numerous levels, participants of numerous Youth Ministries events and programs that wouldn't have been nearly as great without them!

Lauren joins 8th Grade Confirmation this year, a journey Laila just completed last year. Now in separate ministries--Laila in 9th grade--L&L still find ways to enjoy Youth Ministries together, namely as integral members of YM Dungeons & Dragons (Sundays, 12:15pm). Both have participated in immersion trips this year, Laila to DC and Lauren to DC & Baltimore, bringing their understated strength and enthusiasm in both endeavors. These two friends are fantastic examples of what it means to stick it out, tenaciously showing up and finding ways to make an impact. Show up for a Youth Ministries event: chances are, one or both of these young ladies will be there in a leadership role!

"But God’s not finished. He’s waiting around to be gracious to you.
He’s gathering strength to show mercy to you.
God takes the time to do everything right—everything.
Those who wait around for him are the lucky ones" (Isaiah 30:18, MSG).
